I am a firm believer in eating breakfast every morning, but I also work 40 hours a week and have a 45-minute commute, so something quick is ideal. One of my favorite meals are smoothies, but they have to be packed with lots to fill me up. Here is my Sunday smoothie prep for my week of breakfasts.
In each bag, add 1 whole sliced bananas, 1 cup frozen fruit, 1 cup spinach, a tablespoon of whey and a tablespoon of flax, and 1 tsp of ginger. Try to squeeze out as much air as possible and then place in the freezer.
The night before you want to have the smoothie, remove one bag from the freezer and put in the fridge (it blends quicker when the fruit begins to thaw a little). In the morning combine one smoothie bag with ½ cup liquid of your choice and ½ yogurt and enjoy!
In case you are curious about what you are eating, the flax is added for a little fiber, the whey for some protein, the yogurt/milk add protein and fat to help sustain my appetite until lunch, and the ginger is included to soothe my digestive system.
